God’s Audience For You

Have you ever found that because of some inherent thing inside of you, or gift that you have, God places you in spaces you might not have picked on your own? Perhaps because he gave you the gift of entrepreneurship, you are building relationships with the local coffee shop baristas as you work on your company. Maybe you have the gift of hospitality, and you find yourself welcoming people you just met into your home and sharing a meal, and a space of comfort. I believe that God wastes nothing, and that through these gifts, we can reflect His love to others, and show them who He is and what He has done (and will do) for us!

Truthfully, I am still uncovering what my gifts are. One thing is for certain, inherently inside of me, is the drive to work. Albeit this also comes with the counterbalance of rest (which thanks to those God has placed in my life, I’d like to think I’m getting better at). Even writing this blog for you, I don’t and think of it as something to be done, I find putting words on the page and reflecting on what God reveals to me is therapeutic, healing in fact, and I’m driven to do it. I use that inherent drive to create content here. And the most beautiful part of it is, this content was made with God close. Not of my own strength, not to gain notoriety, but in the hopes that God will show the right woman the right words when they need it. Because I trust Him to find an audience for these words. An audience He desires to remind, they are loved fiercely by the God of the universe that created them! (That’s you!)

There are people we meet because of where we are at, and God places us in those places because He wants to reach everyone. The wealthy, the poor, the executive, the student, the person that just got laid off, He cares about them all. His desire is for us to walk in such a boldness that when we come in contact with others, our love will be so full that the Holy Spirit will be tangibly felt around us. That’s my greatest desire when I’m at the office. That the Holy Spirit would permeate my environment, and that when people walk through my doorway, they would feel even a hint of His peace and kindness. I have little to no control over what kind of “audience” He brings me. But what I do know, is that God loves all my clients. He loves my co-workers, and those in leadership. And He loves me. When I pray at work, or speak affirming words over others, He is there. And there is someone He wants to reach; I just have to be a willing vessel for Him to do so.

So, whether your audience is in your home, at work, or even online, I pray you have the boldness to invite Jesus into that space with you. I love how in the Bible, Paul was given various types of audiences with which he gave the good news of the gospel to. It was even because of this that he wound up in prison several times over. And because God picked Paul who was a Roman citizen (which was no accident!) he was able to get an audience with people he would not have otherwise. In chapter 26 of Acts, Paul gives his testimony to a literal King and Queen! Paul even points it back to God (verse 22) that with God’s help, he is able to speak before small and great people. The King almost converted on the spot. Nothing was wasted. Paul may have been in precarious positions, but those very places he was placed, allow God to reach anyone and everyone from fellow prisoners and guards to Kings and emperors.

No matter your position in life, we are all God’s children.

He wants to reach ALL of us. And He will use our gifts and the places we are in to do so, because He desires royalty to know Him just as much as He desires the hopeless, and the broken to know Him too. This is the beauty of His intentionality, where we let Him use our gifts and abilities and He will give us the audience that He wants to reach because He knows we are the person for the job.

So, who is God placing in your audience? How can you share your faith with them? Maybe for now, it’s smaller acts of kindness, simply showing joy and patience. As relationships grow, I pray for boldness in your conversations, and for love to permeate your space so that together, we can point whatever audience God entrusts us with, to Him.
